# How we work: from idea to working system

Mesterséges Intelligencia Központ Kft. is a software development company based in Budapest, Hungary. A project with us runs like this: a free first consultation, requirements, size measurement and offer, staged development, handover, then operation.

## The steps at a glance

1. **Free first consultation:** we get to know your idea and tell you how we would approach it.
2. **Requirements and specification:** together we describe who will use the system, with what data and which functions.
3. **Size measurement and offer:** we measure the functional size of the software from the specification, and the offer and the schedule are based on it.
4. **Development in stages:** at the end of every stage we demonstrate a working part.
5. **Handover:** we hand over the finished system; the contract governs source code and usage rights.
6. **Operation and maintenance:** on request, we look after the system after handover too.

## Free first consultation

You do not need a finished specification for the first conversation. It is enough if you can tell us what problem the software should solve, who would use it, and which existing systems it has to connect to. We ask questions, and if we already see a risk at that point, we say so. If your idea is confidential, we sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) on request before we discuss the details.

## Requirements and specification

We write the specification together with you, in plain language. For every group of functions we go through the same six questions:

- **Goal:** what problem it solves and what makes it a success.
- **Actors:** which people and external systems use it.
- **Data:** what data it stores and moves.
- **Functions:** what users can do with it, listed item by item.
- **AI functions:** where artificial intelligence works inside it.
- **Out of scope:** what this round does not include.

Listing items one by one matters, because the next step measures from this list: whatever is not written down does not appear in the size either.

## Size measurement and offer

From the specification we measure the functional size of the software in COSMIC function points (ISO/IEC 19761). The measurement runs on our own AI-assisted workflow: every group of functions is counted several times, independently, and a reconciliation round makes sure every process counts exactly once. We review the result, and the offer and the schedule are derived from the measured size. The [Pricing](https://www.mestersegesintelligenciakozpont.hu/en/pricing) page explains the details.

## Development in stages, with regular demos

We split the work into stages, and at the end of each one we show you working software, not just a report. That way it becomes clear early if something needs to change, and your feedback goes into the next stage. If a new requirement comes up along the way, we measure it the same way, so you can always see how much the scope changes.

## Handover

At handover you receive the working system. The contract governs source code and usage rights; if you also receive the source code, the system does not depend on us and can be taken further with another developer later.

## Operation and maintenance

After handover we also take on operation and maintenance: running the system, updates, bug fixes and further development. If you also receive the source code, you can run the system yourselves or hand it to another provider.

## Artificial intelligence in our own work

We do not only build artificial intelligence for our clients; we work with it ourselves. Our size measurement runs on an AI-assisted workflow, AI assistants help in development, and the landscapes and obstacles of the game on our homepage are made by our own production line with generative image models. The decisions and the responsibility always stay with us: what the machine suggests, a person checks. You will find examples on the [Our work](https://www.mestersegesintelligenciakozpont.hu/en/our-work) page.

## Frequently asked questions

### What do we need for the first consultation?

A few sentences about the idea: what it would solve, who would use it, and what it has to connect to. If you already have a description, a sketch or a similar system you see as an example, please share it, but none of these is required. Our contact details are on the [Contact](https://www.mestersegesintelligenciakozpont.hu/en/contact) page.

### Do you sign a non-disclosure agreement?

Yes, we sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) on request. If your idea is confidential, mention it in your first message, and we will discuss the details once the agreement is signed.

### What happens after handover?

The contract governs source code and usage rights. If you wish, we take over operation and maintenance, and we measure and schedule further development the same way as the first round. The [FAQ](https://www.mestersegesintelligenciakozpont.hu/en/faq) page answers more questions.
